If you’re uncomfortable with the appearance of your teeth and would like to improve the look of your smile, our office offers a service called a smile makeover. A smile makeover involves using veneers, filling, crowns, bridges, teeth whitening, and more to restore your smile’s natural color, bite, and to straighten out any misaligned or misshapen teeth. Smile makeovers are customized to fit your exact needs and circumstances and even take face shape, skin tone, and hair color into consideration.

What to Expect

As smile makeovers are specific to the individual, the procedure depends entirely on what you’d like to improve in your smile. Factors such as tooth color, missing teeth, uneven teeth, and alignment and spacing are components we can discuss with you about improving. Depending on how our consultation goes, we will schedule appointments and conduct the process accordingly.

If you already have some dental appliances, such as fillings, that don’t have a natural look to them, we can see about a replacement. For instance, if you possess dental fillings that are silver or amalgam, we can also substitute those existing options with more natural composite fillings that resemble the color of your natural teeth. This will help aid the organic look of the smile you are hoping to achieve.

At-Home Care

In order to keep the results of your smile makeover long-lasting and fresh, you’ll need to be diligent about your oral hygiene routine. This involves brushing twice daily, flossing daily, and using antiseptic mouthwashes at least once a day. You will have to avoid abrasive toothbrushes and rough brushing habits in order to avoid scraping the surface of any restorations and causing any damage. Mouthwashes containing alcohol should be avoided as well as foods high in sugar and snacks in between meals. Alcohol, coffee, tea, wine, and soda should be limited or avoided to keep your dental work healthy and stain-free.

Avoid habits such as chewing on hard objects like pens or ice. If you discover or are aware of teeth-grinding habits, you should look into getting a mouth guard to protect your teeth and restorations from any damage. Our office can help you with the acquisition of a mouth guard, if that is something you need to consider as well.

If you want to improve the overall appearance of your smile through different cosmetic procedures or have questions or concerns about the process, be sure to contact our office and voice them at your earliest convenience.
